Interesting teleconference meeting today with a company from Israel, Plurality Ltd (www.plurality.com). Otago University Business Manager Stuart Barson organised a meeting and we talked with Peleg Aviely (VP Eng), Igor Pe’er (CEO) and Robin Eisner. A prototype quad system with SPARC instruction set, and 2MB shared memory, with a number of software tools and emulators/simulator support. Possibility of scaling up to 256 cores. Interests in parallising compilers, simplified model for annotating C code, task-oriented parallel programming and tracking dependencies between tasks. Interests with open source and community driven projects.
